What is I Ching Inspire trying to do?
The I Ching is about change, but it also preserves recurring patterns in how people meet relationships, timing, and choice. This site organises those ideas into a clear bilingual experience: begin with one hexagram, then explore its images, texts, and layers of interpretation at your own pace.
A hexagram is an opening for reflection here, not a decision made on the reader’s behalf. The aim is to notice how forces meet within a situation, what may be changing, and what kind of proportion the next step requires.
What makes up a reading?
Once the six lines are formed, fixed rules determine the primary hexagram, changing lines, resulting hexagram, and reading priority. The Judgement, line statements, and other classical passages are retrieved from fixed data rather than rewritten for the question.
Basic uses modern readings that are written and prepared before casting; they are not generated at the moment of the cast. Plus is planned to add a personalised reading based on the question and the complete changing-line structure. The interface will distinguish these two sources clearly.
The role of translation, editing, and AI
Chinese and English keep the same core interpretation while being written naturally for each language rather than translated word for word. Classical text, plain-language rendering, and modern interpretation are also shown as separate layers so readers can tell what kind of material they are reading.
Generative tools assisted with drafts of some translations, modern readings, and scene images. The results were then checked for structure, terminology, Traditional Chinese, and bilingual alignment. AI does not choose the cast or rewrite the clearly labelled fixed classical layer.

To report a translation, sourcing, safety, accessibility, or other content issue, email hello@ichinginspire.com with the relevant page, passage, and concern. There is no need to include a private question, Journal content, identity document, or other sensitive data.
We review specific reports against the relevant material and retain an updated date on the page so readers can see when its content was last changed.
